Sa Bom Nim Lindsay Update
August 28th, 2024 by Joslin Cameron, Organizer
Thank you for your patience and continued support as we update you on Elizabeth’s condition. The Ryde4Me motorcycle fundraiser was a tremendous success, and we deeply appreciate everyone who participated. Elizabeth’s room is now decorated with the heartfelt posters created by so many of you. We are thrilled to share that she is off the ventilator and breathing on her own, marking a significant step in her recovery. She has also received her discharge papers from the ICU and is awaiting a regular hospital room. Elizabeth is making progress with speech and physical therapy, and her recent facial surgery went smoothly. However, she has also sustained a broken foot and will undergo surgery for that soon. While her brain injury is still evident, we are seeing gradual improvements. For the first time in 2.5 weeks, she can verbalize her thoughts thanks to a speaking trach. We remain hopeful and trust in God’s ultimate plan. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

Good evening, everyone. Here’s a quick update on Elizabeth’s progress.
Today, Elizabeth underwent surgery to repair her broken foot. While she was in the operating room, the surgeon also checked on her arms and was pleased with how well they’re healing. The surgery went smoothly, and she’s now back in the ICU recovering. She’s still waiting to be moved to a different floor, but she’s doing well off the ventilator and is able to use her speaking trach for longer periods each day, which is helping with the frustration of not being able to communicate as easily. Although her jaw remains wired shut for now, Elizabeth continues to impress us with her determination and strength to be vocal.
We’re excited about the upcoming spaghetti dinner hosted by her karate school on the 15th. It promises to be a fantastic event, and if you’re in the North Huntingdon area, we’d love for you to join us! I’ll share more details about this event in a separate post. Additionally, there will be some fundraisers led by the ITF, so keep an eye on their Facebook page for more information.
Given the ongoing expenses and the road ahead, we’ve decided to increase our GoFundMe goal to $150,000. We believe this amount will be crucial for Elizabeth’s needs. If you prefer to donate directly, checks can be made out to Joslin Cameron with “Elizabeth Lindsay GoFundMe” in the memo line and mailed to:
