We hope that everyone had an opportunity to enjoy the early part of the day when the snow was still snow and not the current slushy mess. Due to the continuing weather conditions and the freezing temperatures expected all day tomorrow, we will remain closed for everyone’s safety and plan to reopen on Tuesday with normal schedules. Stay warm, safe and dry in these icy conditions, and be ready to train on Tuesday. Tang Soo!!!

Snow/Weather Policy

Although it is recommended that we follow the school district’s decisions concerning school and activity closures, we use them as a guideline and not an absolute. That said, we encourage you to make your own decisions for safety’s sake and we respect your choices. With all scenarios, we will make a determination by 2:30/3:00 PM an any given day when there is snow/ice in the forecast, and send out a confirmation e-mail, as well as post on our Facebook pages.

  • In the event of snow over night, but tapering off throughout the day, resulting in a school delay of up to 2 hours, we will likely maintain a normal schedule.
  • In the event of active snow causing School District Closures and the canceling of extra-curricular activities/sports, we will follow the school district’s lead and cancel classes.
  • In the event of a prior day’s snow, causing icy conditions for morning travel, a decision will be made based on how weather conditions progress throughout the day, and how well the roads clear.
  • In the event of snow beginning late in the day and not giving us adequate response time, please use your best judgement regarding your safety.

In most cases, the e-mail will be sent by 2:30/3:00 PM to provide as much notice as possible to you, and to give us all a chance to make the safest decision possible. Also, look for updates on our Facebook page.

Regardless of what decisions are made on our part, even if we decide to open for a normal, or a modified schedule, please remember that your safety, and that of your child, are most important to us. Use your best judgement for you, and your safe travel considerations.

Thank You!

10th Annual Chesapeake Bay Invitational

The Perfect Tournament to WIN AND to LEARN

10th Year! It’s Hard to Believe!

Saturday March 7th in Odenton, MD

It started as a training seminar to help our students prepare for the upcoming Spring Tournament Season. In conjunction with Synergy Martial Arts, we wanted to provide a realistic feel for how competition works and to provide a way for parents to understand what happens at tournaments. As it grew, we began using it as a way to train judges, referees and scorekeepers as well. Then it became an Interschool tournament…and now, we realize that this has become an annual tradition and it has been going on for 10 Years!!!

This year, we will have commemorative T-Shirts, and we are introducing our 1st round of Grand Champion Trophies!

Coffee and Food trucks will be available All Day!

We Thank You All for being a Part of this Annual Tradition!

“Experience is a Great Teacher…in Fact, the Best!”

“Competition with others is still competition with Yourself!”

“Enriching your Martial Arts Training with Tournament Participation is an important Experience in your development as a Tang Soo Do practitioner!”

I Personally Stand Behind Every One of these Statements…no matter how cliché they may be! Positive Reinforcement aside…our Choong Jae Nim (Master CS Kim) always attends this tournament (he and Master Yi trained together in Korea under Supreme Grandmaster Hwang Kee), and it is a Great excuse to get to see him and spend time with this Amazing Martial Arts Legend. If there were No Other Reason to go…this is enough. Bring your magazine and ask him to sign it, too!
